The Fall and Winter are the perfect seasons to undergo laser skin resurfacing. During the fall and winter months, your skin experiences less sun exposure. This allows for better healing after laser treatments.
Fractional carbon dioxide laser refacing is a revolutionary approach to skin rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction. It works by creating micro areas of ablation surrounded by normal areas of skin. This helps to dramatically reduce healing time with more dramatic results.
CO2 fractional resurfacing can be used to treat mild skin damage, moderate changes as well as those wanting a more dramatic result. The laser can be used to treat only the eye area or the entire face. I have seen great results on the delicate eyelid skin with this laser.
Laser skin resurfacing is a great adjunct to cosmetic blepharoplasty
The healing process after CO2 laser resurfacing is quick and painless. Immediately after the treatment you will have some swelling and redness. The skin is usually fully healed in about a week. CO2 laser resurfacing is typically done as a single treatment with long lasting results.

A: Within a few days, new skin will appear that is smoother and more even-tones. Your skin will continue to improve over six to nine months as the new collagen begins to develop and the skin elasticity improves.
A: I use topical numbing cream and local nerve blocks to numb the face before the laser procedure. Some patients choose to do the Laser resurfacing with an anesthesiologist present. Then we can administer some light sedation to keep the patient comfortable.
